What is Assisted Living?

Life at Collington is full of beautiful things- nature, friends, activities and people who care. One of the most notable ways Collington attends to its residents is by providing a variety of levels of care from Independent Living to Memory Care to Rehabilitation.

And the best part is, every level of care is located on one campus, residents get to stay where they are comfortable and where they have built a life, no matter what level of assistance they require.

Assisted Living at Collington provides services to individuals whether it be minimal or advanced. The Creighton Center, which is Collington’s Assisted Living Center, focuses on helping its residents maintain as much independence as possible. The Assisted Living Community is broken into 3 neighborhoods

  • The Brandywine
  • The Potomac
  • The Arbor

Each neighborhood is set up according to the level of care so residents and their families can be confident knowing they are getting the assistance they need. These housing options provide help with every day activities like meal prep, bathing, laundry, housekeeping and more.

For those that require more medical attention, Collington offers a Skilled Nursing Program. This program consists of a licensed nurse who is available 24 hours a day to provide direct care or make decisions regarding the patient’s care. Skilled Nursing is provided for patients who require more intense assistance with things like bathing, getting from bed to wheelchair, tube feedings, rehabilitation, etc.

Collington also offers Memory Care for residents with memory-related disorders like Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The Arbor neighborhood is specifically for those with these disorders and was built with their safety in mind. The facilities work hard to help those with memory loss continue to feel connected to their families and the world around them. By having services for them on campus, residents are able to stay in familiar surroundings, be near friends and participate in activities to keep them present.

Collington’s Assisted Living Program offers a variety of care levels and services that are tailored to each individual’s specific needs. The beauty of being a Life Care Community member is that you will continue to enjoy all Collington has to offer even as your needs change over time.
